PM 210 SP hoping conquer Italy.

Our mission has always been to interpret and respond to ever-changing market demands, each with its own specific features, customer by customer. The wide range of PM cranes covers every type of operational need, largely due to the latest major projects and some very recent revisions. The 210 SP undoubtedly expresses the maximum power and versatility that PM can offer its customers, a solid amalgam of technological innovation, efficiency and design. Accordingly, we’ve sought to achieve a model with unique characteristics, at the request of an Italian customer.

This version of the 210 SP makes compactness its strength. The special configuration with 7 extendable arms including the addition of the specially redesigned jib, which has the same number of telescopic elements, is ideal for mounting on a vehicle with a short wheelbase such as a 4-axle Volvo. This provides a set-up that overall does not exceed 10 metres in length.

With a crane of this category, such results represent a uniquely exceptional feature. Besides being our pride and joy, it transforms this potent power package into an even more versatile crane, now capable of carrying out movements more easily on construction sites and/or where manoeuvring spaces are particularly limited.

It might be compact, but it has a remarkable reach. This particular set-up guarantees record-breaking performance; with the crane including the jib, you can reach 45 metres in length horizontally and over 49 metres vertically and, with the addition of a manual extension on the last extension of the jib, it reaches a full 51 metres. Such long distances require greater control over the work area, especially at height. For this reason, we’ve applied a “PreciseLift View” video camera to the tip of the jib which allows the operator to manoeuvre the crane at the foot of a building. This results in a clear and real-time view, directly on the remote control, of where their load will be positioned, while helping to increase the efficiency of operations in progress, their own safety and that of on-site workers.

The most important accessory is undoubtedly the articulated manual extension. Thanks to this addition, which is applied to the seventh extension of the basic crane, previously inaccessible working angles can be reached, allowing loads ranging from 8 to 20 tonnes to be handled.

The machine is equipped with a winch, both on the standard, 4-pull crane and single and double pull on the jib. We’ve provided an innovative function that allows the crane to be closed with the rope mounted up to the tip of the jib, including the blocks, without having to dismantle any parts. “Wrap and Go” is the name of the function, which primarily means having the machine always ready and available, but above all greater safety for the operator, which actually drastically reduces the risks that would be caused by performing the same operations manually while handling heavy equipment.

Another factor to be emphasised is the presence of a 2-metre wide elevating work platform, for work to be carried out at height. With a maximum capacity of 200 kg, even 2 operators can work, facilitating, for example, maintenance work at maximum efficiency, such as special 5G antenna work. This is the main area of operation for customers who purchase this special equipment.

We’ve also prepared a structure in the rear part of the machine where the operator basket can be accommodated so that it’s always ready for use, without the need to move it on trolleys or other support vehicles

The stability of this special version of the 210 SP is provided by no less than 7 stabiliser feet, 4 of which work on the left and right sides, 2 on the rear and 1 on the front. The first 6 are supplied as standard, and allow for 100% stability on the 2 lateral areas and on the rear area of the vehicle for an overall angle of approximately 240°, while the front foot (limited by the structural resistance of the vehicle frame) allows the crane to work on the front arch obtaining an extra capacity of 30%.

The 210 SP is an uncompromising truck-mounted crane. It forms the convergence point of the best technologies and features on the market, applied to both mechanics and electronics, to express maximum performance.

The JMP Plus system maximises jib performance, the E-Flowsharing function allows better control over multiple manoeuvres to make them smoother, while the PM Stability Power System manages and optimises the parameters for maximum safety – and all these are just some of the standard functions you’ll also find on this special version, whose extreme compactness and exceptional accessories make us confident that it will find favour with the Italian market, to which we’ve always paid the utmost attention.
