The winning prospects for innovation.
The GIS EXPO in Piacenza is the most important event in Italy this year for operators in the world of lifting systems.
This biennial event has regularly attracted huge crowds to the exhibition area, evidence of the lively interest in all the latest developments by manufacturers of truck cranes and other equipment.
The PM Group has always considered it both natural and extremely important to be one of the leading exhibitors at the fair; because nothing is as effective as making direct contact with those who are looking for attractive new solutions for their work and wishing to view the equipment first hand.
In this respect, 2023 promises to be a very special year for the PM Group.
We have continued our drive towards all-round innovation, which began with the launch of our flagship 70.5 SP crane, and are offering yet more surprising new additions this year.
We are really keen to introduce you to the powerful 83.5 SP, which is due to be launched in the next few months.
It combines an ideal size with the same technological innovation to be found in its younger sister, making it a powerful machine with just the right amount of versatility.
This new arrival in the Platinum range exemplifies our endeavour to find the optimum design, by keeping the overall dimensions of the crane to a minimum without any compromises to its structural strength.
Indeed, the results of all this research and development work have produced a unique, record-breaking design.
Compared to the previous model, the 83.5 SP offers a wide outreach of 22.80 m, making this a version with 9 possible jib extensions. Also, in comparison with competitors, it has record-breaking external dimensions of only 1590 mm, requiring up to 150 mm less space for installation.
This reduction in size is also reflected in the overall weight of the crane, with the new 83.5 SP weighing 300 kg less.
The crane has also achieved wonders in terms of performance: fitted with a jib and in a vertical working position, it has shown an increase in performance of up to 50%.
An all-time record. This achievement makes the PM 83.5 SP one of the top-performing machines its category, bringing it into direct competition with heavier cranes from other manufacturers.
Its solid performance is also ensured by a control system that includes the latest technologies on the market, customised to fit the 83.5 SP model and making it a secure bastion from the point of view of safety.
If at this point you’re thinking that the 83.5 SP might be your next crane, we should tell you that we have much more to reveal. And we can do this at the GIS EXPO, where the machine will be on show in our exhibition space, accompanied by our sales and technical staff, who will happily provide you with any information or technical details you require.

“Improvement and innovation” continues to be our mantra.
The PM Group’s research and development team is committed to producing cutting-edge designs, and has focused much of its efforts on developing state of the art solutions to ensure the total stability of our vehicles.
This is a matter of a solution that is unique to PM, and which could have a far-reaching impact on the market.
It consists of a revolutionary item of equipment which can be fitted directly onto a vehicle in just a few simple steps, and without any alteration to its structure; it significantly increases stability in the rear section, where this is more of a critical factor, especially in the case of vehicles with short or very short wheelbases.
The size makes it suitable for use with a semi-trailer attached to the fifth wheel of the tractor, and it consists of two stabilising arms with support jacks attached, which are manually or hydraulically adjustable.
It is quick and convenient to mount, as there is no need for any of the support systems or superstructures that would greatly increase the complexity and costs of assembly.
GIS EXPO 2023 provides an excellent opportunity to view the set up created by our excellent dealer GF Oleodinamica for their customer Savo Truck, using the new 70.5 in the 7+6 version, combined with this innovative and sophisticated equipment.
The new designs described in this publication are evidence of our constant efforts to look for ever more advanced solutions, with excellent performance and standards of construction that include care over the finest detail and extend well beyond the bold appearance of the crane.
We are confident that you will be as satisfied as we are.
We look forward to seeing you at Piacenza from 5 to 7 October.
